Our Story
Over 18 years ago, our first zinnia bed was tilled and planted, and the fruits of the labor were just amazing. We gave flowers to friends, family, and even made altar flowers for our church for Sunday worship. Buster and I were both raised with farming grandparents and had a vast knowledge of things we wanted to incorporate into our farm. Each year we grew to love the bernary zinnia more and more. The original bed is still where we farm those beauties today. Our farm was purchased with an old cow pen in the back corner of our property, thus the name Cow Pen Bottom Farm, came to life. We added a farm gate, which a neighbor welded, had a few logo stickers made for recycled wine bottles used for vases, and of course a couple of t-shirts to sport our newly designed logo. We decided to take a stab at the local Farmers’ market. Our market experience bonded friendships that today we still treasure and we soon realized that this group of farmers just like us, had became our extended family.
At Cow Pen Bottom Farm, we live in adventure mode. We balance life, family and farming putting God first in our lives and our decisions. Our children and grand children are a huge part of our way of life and you’re sure to find them with us at the Texarkana Gateway Farmers Market on Saturday’s during the season.

We offer a porch ministry, Flowers of Faith, on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday mornings and afternoons. This runs from May through June. The morning time is 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. weekly. The afternoon time is from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Groups can cut their own flowers, and we give a quick class/tips on arranging. If you are interested in booking for your small group, please subscribe and let me know. Times and slots fill up quickly when the season begins, so be sure to book your cutting day and time soon!
Some small groups share a devotional, while others enjoy the beauty of the farm in the early morning or late evening. Sharing this experience with friends is a memory that you will share for a lifetime:)
